New techniques and trends for sensory characterisation and consumer profiling

The first international conference of its kind on African soil, where the needs, challenges and opportunities of different African regions will also be addressed will take place at STIAS, Stellenbosch University, South Africa from 23 - 26 November 2015.

If you want to know where sensory science is going in Europe and Africa, this international conference is where you should be as the world’s sensory and consumer scientists share cutting edge talks, collaborate with scientists from around the world and discuss challenging issues facing industry and academia.

An exciting programme includes six keynote speakers as well as oral-, flash- and poster presentations.

Keynote speakers are Tormod Næs and Paula Varela (Norway), Dominique Valentin (France), Gastón Ares (Uruguay), Erminio Monteleone (Italy) and Riette de Kock (South Africa).

The AfroSense conference concludes on Thursday 26 November with a ½-day workshop focussing on rapid sensory methods that are ideally suited for R & D within the industry environment.

A postconference Half-day Workshop aimed at methods to understand consumers’ motivations from  a cross- cultural perspective:  Focus on psychological and cultural aspectswill be held on Friday 27 November 2015 (09:00-14:00) and presented by Dominique Valentin.
