On the 16th of November, a seminar with invited speakers was held at Nofima (Ås in Norway) in honour of Tormod Næs who will go into official retirement in 2024. The speakers represented a variety of the researchers he has collaborated with for a number of years and who have become good friends. Thus, the one-day seminar provided a cross sectional overview of his contributions to chemometrics and sensometrics, both from the application side and the mathematical side. Even if Tormod officially will retire in 2024, he says he will still be active and continue collaboration with his science friends. Tormod has worked at Nofima (previously Matforsk) since the beginning of the 80’s and has also been affiliated with the University of Oslo, Copenhagen University, University of Naples Federico II, and Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). He has co-authored 6 books, co-edited two books and has almost 260 registrations in scopus.
