What is the new arrangement? Sensometrics 2020 will be moved to October 6-9, 2020 (Week 41). The venue in Stavanger will be the same.
Why is Sensometrics 2020 postponed? The Sensometric Society Committee and Sensometrics 2020 conference organizers have been monitoring the ongoing efforts to contain the COVID-19 coronavirus and receiving updates from Norwegian and international health authorities. Recent travel restrictions have been imposed that affect many conference registrants. We solicited feedback from registered participants to get a wider perspective. A majority of registrants requested that the conference be postponed. On March 12, 2020 the decision to postpone the conference was finalized and all registrants were notified by email. We sincerely regret the inconvenience that this postponement will cause some registrants.
Do I need to change my travel and hotel bookings related to Sensometrics? Yes. You are responsible for cancelling/changing your hotel reservations and other travel arrangements, as needed.
Does my registration apply to the postponed dates? Yes. The conference is postponed not cancelled, so there is no need to re-register. By default, all registrations are held for Sensometrics 2020 on the postponed dates.
Can I get my registration refunded? Yes. We understand that that some people will be unable to attend the conference on the postponement dates. If you cannot attend on the postponement dates, you may initiate a request for a full refund of your registration fees before the cancellation deadline, June 30, 2020. Will the presentation that I worked on still be part of the scientific program? Yes. If you have a presentation (oral, flash poster, poster) then your place in the scientific program is held, as long as you remain registered. There will be a new call for abstracts in April-June; this new call will help to ensure that the content is highly current. The committee will select from all abstracts when filling holes in the scientific program (by authors who need to drop out). Changes to the scientific program will be communicated promptly.
Will the hotel offer rooms at a reduced rate for the new meeting dates? Yes. We will advise when the conference hotel provides a discount code that will allow new bookings at reduced rates.
