    Five tutorials are planned for Sensometrics 2020 Tutorial Day:

    • John Ennis (Aigora, USA) & Thierry Worch (FrieslandCampina, Netherlands) - Increasing business impact through automated reporting in R
    • Michael Meyners (Procter & Gamble Service GmbH, Germany) - Effective communication and publication of scientific research
    • Anne Hasted & Gemma Hodgson (Qi Statistics Ltd, UK) - Tackling analysis of complex sensory & consumer test design structures
    • John Castura (Compusense Inc., Canada) - Independent components analysis of sensory evaluation data
    • John Ennis (Aigora, USA) & Thierry Worch (FrieslandCampina, Netherlands) - Making the most of your data with machine learning in R

    Tutorials are provided at extra cost. Lunch on April 21 is included with (at least one) tutorial registration. Tutorials may be subject to change.

    Update: Tutorial Day has been cancelled as part of the changes with the transition to an online-only conference.

    Abstracts will now be accepted until November 15, 2019.

    The Sensometric Society invites applications for Travel Grants & Scholarships for participation in the 15th Sensometrics meeting in Stavanger, Norway in April 2020. The application deadline is December 15, 2019. Click here for further details and for a link to the application form.

    Are you interested and willing to host the 16th Sensometrics Meeting in 2022?
     
    The deadline to submit a proposal is October 15, 2019.
     
    Proposals should contain:
    - conference chair(s) and local organizing committee
    - proposed conference dates (in 2022)
    - venue or venue choices
    - expected room rates
    - expected travel routes for registrants
    - draft budget
     
    Please submit the proposal in a PDF attachment to an email addressed to John Castura, Chair, Sensometric Society.

    The 15th Sensometrics meeting invites oral and poster contributions from all areas of sensometrics.

    Please submit an abstract for either an oral or poster presentation on the conference website at:

    Deadline for abstract submission is October 1, 2019.

    All accepted contributions are invited to submit a full paper for inclusion in a virtual special issue of Food Quality and Preference.

    Call for tutorial proposals for Sensometrics 2020!

    Tutorial proposals are invited for the upcoming Sensometrics Tutorial Day, to be held in Stavanger, Norway on April 21, 2020, just in advance of the full meeting.

    We anticipate sufficient interest to justify holding morning and afternoon tutorials. The tutorial duration will be approximately 3 hours (including a 20-minute break).

    This thematic issue of the Italian Journal of Applied Statistics will be devoted to the advancements in the broad field of "Statistical methods for food product quality". Submissions that deal with advances in statistics and applications in this topic, also including data collection, analysis, and interpretation on the topical issues, are welcome. The **new** deadline for paper submissions is January 7th, 2019. For further details, click here.

    Three sensometrics tutorials will be taking place at Congress Centre VeronaFiere prior to the Eight European Conference on Sensory and Consumer Research ("Eurosense 2018").

    Tutorials will be held on Sunday 2 September 2018, from 10am – 2pm. Please note you can only attend 1 tutorial and places are available on a first come, first served basis.

    You can enroll in any of the tutorials when registering for the conference. If you have already registered, you can log back into the registration system

    The cost to attend is 70 euros + VAT per person. Tutorials will include a sandwich lunch around noon.

    Everyone who attended Sensometrics 2018 has been given a complimentary membership for the remainder of 2018. Please contact the Sensometric Society Chair if you need assistance activating your membership.
